Chuck Holton: Putin deals with the West regarding the Donbas, New Paradigms w/Sargis Sangari EP #87

On Monday, 21 FEB 22, on the 87th EPISODE, of New Paradigms with Sargis Sangari, Chuck Holton, Freelance War Correspondent, author, and the host of “The Hot Zone w/Chuck Holton” returns for the second part of our discussion on the #Ukraine crisis to answer the question: Has #Putin struck deals with the West regarding the #Donbas?

“Ukrainians know that the battle is not between Putin and the West.”

After Putin signed the decrees recognizing the Independence of the #Donetsk Peoples Republic and #Luhansk People’s Republic, Chuck Holton returns with the breaking news and analysis.

Holton states that “Putin has been planning and preparing this for many years from the ground viewpoint.” “Putin is also making a bold move, and the reason he is emboldened is a weak American President.”

According to Holton, the challenge for the U.S. is extreme, especially since the U.S. lost its #superpower status on August 28, 2021.

By supplying equipment to Ukraine only, the U.S. runs the same risk it did in #Afghanistan, where billions of dollars were essentially transferred to the enemy and later used against the U.S. allies globally.

The risk is higher with Ukraine, where the U.S. has already sent over 12,000 tons of weapons. As Holton points out, #Russia will sell captured and surrendered U.S. equipment to the highest bidder. They will end up being used against us on the border with #Mexico as other U.S. weapons.

“If it is worth doing, we should do it ourselves. If it is not worth doing ourselves, then maybe it is not worth doing.” But the Biden administration isn’t the only one to blame for the tight foreign policy. The previous U.S. administrations looked at foreign policy through the lens of a balance sheet. The detrimental effects of a U.S. retreat are not balanced against the costs of being replaced by foreign powers with ideologies at odds with the U.S. and free world. The U.S. must remain engaged and invested in the projection of power if we don’t want others to replace our ideology.

Will the next few hours bring the potential for local or even #global conflict erupting, or is there a path to a #peaceful resolution? No one can say for sure.

“This thing has been scripted on both sides, and the way it’s going, he (Putin) is going to have to invade unless someone breaks the script but can their egos handle it?”

Join me for this critical discussion, and as I have stated before, over the next six months, we will find out as post-postmortem sets in on Ukraine if Putin has struck deals with the West regarding the #Donbas?
