Alfred Johnson is a senior advisory board member, serving as the Director of Research for Southeast Asia and Japan for NEC-SE.
Alfred Johnson served in the US Army as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician and Officer, with two deployments to the CENTCOM area of operations, including as the CENTCOM Theater EOD Contingency Force Commander (CCTECF) in 2010, responsible for both Force Protection of US DoD assets and engagement with host nation EOD, Counter IED (CIED), and other terrorist network response organizations.
He was the founder of Raven International Security Consultants (RISC) Management in 2007, later Raven Group International. At RISC Management, he developed the Ravens Challenge program for domestic and overseas applications, developing it into the largest single event Counter IED exercise that evolved into multinational counter-terrorism, investigative, and informational training exercises and programs of record. Working directly with the Royal Thai Police Special Operations Unit 191 and supporting various Royal Thai Military, Police, and Public/Private security organizations for over 10 years in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Alfred Johnson was also the instructor for Post Blast Investigations for two years for the Royal Thai Detectives and Investigators course provided by ILEAA in partnership with the Royal Thai Police.
Alfred Johnson later moved into the network identification, de-radicalization, and information operations fields. His investigations led him throughout SE Asia, Japan, and the United States. He focused on identifying organic and external informational, cultural, and historical friction points and their impact on more significant regional issues. He specialized in identifying CCP historical informational campaigns designed to influence current policy and radicalize opposition groups.
His collaborative work with the NEC-SE includes analysis of informational campaigns causing regional and local radicalization, Burmese ethnic conflict, Thai insurgency campaigns and capabilities, Japanese and Korean political background issues affecting US defense and security policies, and radicalization programs directed at the United States from overseas organizations and governments, historical, biological warfare capability of the Soviet Union, and structural changes in the US that potentially influence radicalization and violence.
Alfred Johnson was awarded the US State Department Franklin award in 2007 for his development and implementation of Counter IED programs in Thailand.
Alfred retired in 2019 and moved back to the United States. He currently owns Secure Point Investigations, a Private Investigation Firm specializing in historical, open-source (OSINT) and social media (SOCMINT) investigations and analysis.
