Australia considers joining US-led Syria air campaign against IS

Australia is historically tied to England and was the key to wining the war in Asia and controlling Asia in WWII.  Given we are currently fighting a global war against ISIS Australia will become key to controlling Asia again.

On 30 JUL 15 NEC-SE posted: “With the arms race beginning in the Middle East Pope Francis comments that global conflicts have become WWIII may ring true in the future.”

The below report states: “Australia is considering a request from the United States to extend its air campaign against the Islamic State group in Iraq into Syria, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Friday.”

In WWII Australia fought two wars between 1939 and 1945 – one against Germany and Italy as part of the British Commonwealth’s war effort and the other against Japan in alliance with the United States and Britain. From 1942 until early 1944, Australian forces played a key role in the Pacific War, making up the majority of Allied strength throughout much of the fighting in the South West Pacific. The military was largely relegated to subsidiary fronts from mid-1944, but continued offensive operations against the Japanese until the war ended.

World War II contributed to major changes in the nation’s economy, military and foreign policy. The war accelerated the process of industrialisation, led to the development of a larger peacetime military and began the process with which Australia shifted the focus of its foreign policy from Britain to the United States. The final effects of the war also contributed to the development of a more diverse and cosmopolitan Australian society.

NEC-SE believes that Australia will once again benefit financially and politically in the 21st Century given its strategic location in this coming global and economic war that will need to control Asia and influence it if the western and civilized nations are going to win against their emerging global enemies and competitors in the region.
