PKK attacks Turkey’s halted Shah Deniz gas pipeline

Another validation of what we have pointed out in the KRG region comes true and will continue over the coming month.  Major changes are in order for Turkey internally and the KRG leadership in Iraq politically over the next month and a half starting from 9 AUG 15.

On 31 JUL 15 NEC-SE posted the article: Turkish violence yet to spill over into Kurdish oil operations.  In our posting we stated: “This fighting will not fair well for Kurdish unity and PKK footprint in Turkey and KRG which is currently lead by KDP leaders who have long been connected to Turkish leadership aspirations in the region.”

On 28 JUL 15 NEC-SE posted: Explosion shuts down Iran-Turkey natural gas pipeline-Kurdish rebels were blamed.  In our posting we stated: ”

With Turkish continued bombardment of Kurdish positions in Iraq and Syria and Iran now in solid control of the Kirkuk oil fields and Iranian economy in complete control of the Sulaymaniyah economy it seems that the Kurdish groups in the region have finally realized that their dream of a greater kurdistan is done.  Kurdish elements will fight against Turkish and Iranian interests in their areas.”

Todays news article states:  “Kurdish militants attacked Turkey’s Shah Deniz pipeline carrying natural gas from Azerbaijan early on Tuesday, but the blast did not impact supply as flow had already been halted for maintenance, the energy minister said on Tuesday.  The blast came days after another attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) halted flows along a pipeline carrying crude oil to Turkey from Iraq.”
