The #CCP, now 100 years old, has an aggressive plan. It is pursuing a global economic expansionist strategy, leading to China’s economic supremacy. But this quest for supremacy is tied to China’s ability to innovate or acquire advanced technologies, from artificial intelligence to advanced #5G and #6G#telecommunications technology.
Through #cyberespionage, merger and acquisition, equity participation, and international #jointventures, China is narrowing its innovation gap in #technology. But the cost to the #US and our allies is devastating. China’s #satellite-based #eCommerce initiative for developing nations is a model designed to capture the hearts and minds and wallets of have-not nations. These nations, many of which are among the most corrupt nations on the planet, will be the beneficiary of China’s technologies and eCommerce, technologies acquired both legally and illegally from the US and our allies.
Doing business with China increases risk, but it is a risk that companies will take to participate in a trillion-dollar market. This is a bipartisan issue of our time, and #Congress must act NOW! and act decisively to close the risk gap that exposes our technological prowess to compromise that results in lost jobs, lost #intellectualproperty, and loss of competitive positioning in the #globalmarketplace.
