Since 2014 NEC-SE has expressed that there are issues in the way USAID and other U.S. agencies have approached the support for Assyrian Christians in the Middle East. It is good to see them taking responsibility for the mistakes made and that they are now moving in the right direction. If they continue on this route, many doors will be open to American foreign policy which in the past remained closed given its resistance to take a new approach to the support of Assyrians and other minorities in Iraq.
